An Introduction to Developmental Trauma

Service Description

This session will provide participants with an opportunity to explore the various definitions of developmental trauma within the context of current research. We will explore the impact of trauma on children's arousal, attention and memory. Participants will explore the implications for practice in services, by considering the potential impact of the physical environment, the routines and the interactions with educators. The workshop will be focused on developing practical strategies that can be directly translated into practice by integrating evidence-based learning from leading researchers.
