Understanding Brains, Bodies & Behaviour (Online)

6 Hours (+ 30 minute break)

This comprehensive workshop essentially integrates insights from our 'Understanding the Neurobiology of Developmental Trauma,' 'Exploring Regulation' and 'Understanding Children's Behaviour' sessions. The session delves into the complexities of children's behaviors, exploring them as a nuanced form of communication, particularly within the context of developmental trauma.

Beginning with a foundational understanding of developmental trauma, participants will explore practical applications in educational and care settings. The session includes reflective discussion on the importance of understanding brain development, introducing Dan Siegel's 'Hand Model of the Brain.'

The practical workshop embraces tools and strategies for supporting the recovery of traumatized children. Beyond talk-based approaches, the session emphasizes the significance of body-based interventions, incorporating experiential learning from sensorimotor psychotherapy, movement strategies, and play-based modalities.

Participants will be equipped with skills to provide traumatized children with protective systems, compassionate care and therapeutic interventions to alter their developmental trajectory.

A certificate for your participation in this workshop will be provided upon completion.
