Psychosocial Therapy
Supporting children's emotional wellbeing through relationships, regulation and connection.
Connect.Ed's Psychosocial Therapists work alongside educators to better understand children's emotional and behavioural needs, strengthen educator confidence and create environments where children feel safe, connected and ready to learn.
Rather than focusing on behaviour alone, we explore the factors influencing a child's participation and work collaboratively with educators to develop practical, relationship-based strategies that can be embedded into everyday practice.

Overview
Children communicate in many different ways.
Sometimes that communication comes through words. Sometimes it comes through behaviour.
When children experience challenges with emotional regulation, relationships or participation, educators are often left wondering how best to respond.
Psychosocial Therapy helps educators understand the "why" behind behaviour while building practical skills to support children with confidence, empathy and consistency.
Through Preschool Boost, we work alongside educators within their everyday environment, helping teams develop strategies that strengthen relationships, support emotional wellbeing and improve participation across the day.
Why This Matters
Relationships are the foundation for children's learning, wellbeing and development.
When educators feel confident responding to children's emotional needs, they create environments where children experience greater safety, connection and belonging.
By strengthening educator understanding and capability, we help create consistent, relationship-based approaches that benefit not only individual children, but the entire learning community.

Our Approach
We believe behaviour is communication.
Rather than asking, "How do we stop this behaviour?", we ask, "What might this child be communicating, and how can we respond in a way that supports them?"
By working alongside educators within real learning environments, we help teams build confidence in responding to children's emotional needs with curiosity, consistency and compassion.
Our goal is not to create dependence on our support, but to leave educators feeling more confident, capable and equipped to support children long after our involvement has ended.
