Hear from services we've supported

Kerra-Lee (Connect.Ed) was a joy to work with, she seamlessly fit in with our staff group and was able to offer amazing insight while also being non-judgemental of the challenges we faced. Throughout the process we gained an understanding of brain development, the impact of developmental trauma, understanding children's behaviours, trauma-informed practices and we found our educator’s confidence increased.

We have found professional development training in this area in the past inadequate to support our educators dealing with some highly complex trauma cases, yet Kerra-Lee’s training was hands on, practical and relevant.

We would highly recommended Connect.Ed services to any other service as what we received from them was fantastic.

I wholeheartedly recommend Connect.Ed to anyone who works with children of any age!

Children are at the centre of everything we do as early childhood educators. This process has been a wonderful opportunity for educators to ‘tool up’ and increase their understanding of why we see certain behaviours in our care and learning environments and how to support children to navigate this very exciting time in their lives.

Assistant Director, Torrens Valley Children’s Centre

Our staff have benefited from the education and mentoring programs offered by Connect.Ed, to build resilience for their own personal wellbeing and to recognise signs of vicarious trauma. Our partnership with Connect.Ed has enabled Happy Haven OSHC to learn and appreciate that 'Connection is much more than supervision or engagement, it is a strategy that describes the art of co-regulation, of connection before correction

Tony Smith
Chief Governance Officer, Happy Haven OHSC

Through mentoring and training sessions on trauma informed care, Kerra-Lee (Connect.Ed) provided educators with the tools to:

  • Recognise and acknowledge our own responses to trauma, our understanding of the impact of trauma, and how the developing brain works;

  • Recognise that a child’s inability to regulate emotions and behaviour indicates that a need is not being met, and to look beyond the behaviours and focus on the need;

  • Implement strategies to support the child to self-regulate.

I thoroughly recommend the support from the Connect.Ed team

Thank you so much for all your time, effort and support in delivering the wellbeing project to our team. We are so grateful for your support and encouragement to learn and grow.

 The project was life changing and the skills and knowledge gained by our educators will help them in all areas of their lives including their practice with children.
