Speech Therapy
Our Speech Pathologists support all forms of communication so that children can express themselves, understand others, and connect with the world around them. This includes spoken language, gestures, facial expressions, signs, and early literacy development.
They also assist with feeding and mealtime challenges, which can impact a child’s nutrition, growth, and social experiences.
Support may include:
Improving speech clarity so others can understand your child
Supporting language development, such as following instructions, using new words, or forming sentences
Enhancing social communication (e.g., turn-taking, reading non-verbal cues, using polite language)
Introducing AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) for children who need extra support to communicate. This may include visuals, communication boards, sign language, or speech-generating devices
Working closely with families and educators to ensure AAC tools are used consistently and confidently across home, school, and care settings
Providing support for early literacy, such as recognising letters, sounds, and building vocabulary
Addressing feeding challenges, such as food refusal, gagging, or difficulties with chewing and swallowing
We take a strengths-based, practical approach that recognises all the ways a child can communicate—and work with families and educators so those strategies feel natural and easy to use in daily life.
