Bringing Up Great Kids®

Supporting parents to build stronger relationships through connection, reflection and understanding.

Every parent wants the very best for their child, but parenting doesn't come with a handbook.

Bringing Up Great Kids® (BUGK) is an evidence-informed parenting program that supports parents and caregivers to better understand children's behaviour, strengthen relationships and respond with confidence, empathy and connection.

Through guided reflection and practical learning, families develop strategies that support children's emotional wellbeing while building stronger, more secure relationships at home.

Overview

Children thrive when they experience safe, secure and nurturing relationships.

Bringing Up Great Kids® helps parents understand how everyday interactions shape children's emotional development, behaviour and lifelong wellbeing.

Rather than providing quick fixes or behaviour management techniques, the program encourages parents to become curious about children's needs, reflect on their own experiences and strengthen the relationships that support healthy development.

Through shared learning and guided discussion, parents leave feeling more confident, more connected and better equipped to navigate the challenges of raising young children.

Why Bringing Up Great Kids®?

Children's behaviour is communication.

When parents understand what sits beneath behaviour, they are better able to respond in ways that strengthen connection rather than simply managing difficult moments.

Bringing Up Great Kids® provides opportunities for parents to reflect on:

  • their own experiences of being parented

  • how these experiences influence their parenting today

  • children's emotional development

  • understanding behaviour through a relationship-based lens

  • building secure parent–child relationships

  • supporting children's emotional regulation

The result is greater confidence, stronger relationships and practical strategies that families can use every day.

What Parents Will Learn

Across six interactive sessions, parents explore:

  • children's emotional and brain development
  • understanding behaviour as communication
  • reflective parenting practices
  • strengthening parent–child relationships
  • supporting children's emotional regulation
  • responding with empathy and confidence
  • practical strategies that can be applied in everyday family life

Sessions encourage discussion, reflection and shared learning, creating a supportive environment where parents can learn alongside other families experiencing similar challenges.

Each participant also receives session handouts and reflection resources to support ongoing learning and home practice between sessions.

Our Approach

At Connect.Ed, we believe that lasting change begins with relationships.

Our facilitators create a safe, welcoming space where parents can reflect without judgement, ask questions openly and build confidence in their own parenting strengths.

Rather than promoting "perfect parenting", Bringing Up Great Kids® encourages curiosity, compassion and connection—helping families recognise that small, everyday interactions have a profound impact on children's development and wellbeing.
